Thank You!
Following Sean’s resignation as Club Treasurer, Josh and I would like to offer him our sincerest thanks for the huge amount of effort he brought to the role over the last 16 months. His positivity and diligence will be hugely missed. He has made fundamental changes to the way the club has been run and is instrumental in our current growth and success.
As the club has grown, the work done by the committee has grown too. As treasurer, Sean has shouldered a lot of that, and the effort has risked reducing his enjoyment of playing games. He leaves the post with nothing but thanks from Josh and I. As a mark of respect we shall be retiring the term "Master of Coin". That title shall always be Sean's.
Treasurer not cashier
The role of Treasurer is currently defined here. It is an important role, regarding the financial health of the club, and having responsibility for a number of our systems for payment and managing data. It is not just a cashier for taking funds on game night, though that has been a visible and time consuming part.
I’d like to remind all club attendees that fees can be taken by any committee member plus Pete Morton (and on Monday nights, Dave). We do not take it in turns and have never done so, we can all take fees any night we are present.
It is your responsibility to pay one of us. Come and find us when you get to a game night (especially Thursdays). Do not make us have to chase you later in the evening, it’s unfair and means we get to play less. We shall be enforcing this in future.
Election
We shall be holding an EGM where card carrying members of the club can vote for a new treasurer.
Nominations for Treasurer are sought by close of game night on 19th September. Nominees shall then be advertised.
An EGM shall be called for election of a new Treasurer on 3rd October.
If you are interested in standing for the role of Treasurer, then please contact Josh or I.
You will need to be a current club member, proficient with excel/google sheets, not be a declared bankrupt, and be prepared to contribute significantly to the club.
